Please take a moment to read our most commonly asked questions. We're always available to answer your questions and encourage you to contact our office if you have a question that is not answered below.

  • What days are you open?

    Our office is open Monday through Friday and for your convenience our office is open once a month on Saturday. As our daily schedule is subject to change, please call to confirm office hours.

  • Are you accepting new patients?

    Yes, we welcome new patients.

  • Do you accept my health insurance plan?

    Advocare participates with most major insurance plans. As participation varies by region, specialty, and physician, we recommend that you contact either our office or your insurance company representative to verify that your insurance plan is accepted.

  • How do we contact the doctor after hours?

    If you have an urgent or emergent medical concern you should call one of our main numbers and ask to speak to a physician.  For nonurgent questions or concerns or for medication refills we STRONGLY recommend using our patient portal.  This is a way for you to interface with your doctor directly without having to wait in a phone queue.

  • How long does it take to get an appointment?

    Often it is hard to get into see an Endocrinologist. We pride ourselves on getting routine URGENT NEW consults in with a provider within 24 to 48 hours and routine NEW consults in within 7 days. For established patients we strongly recommend booking your follow up visits after your appointment is complete to ensure you have the time and date that is best for you.
  • May I request a specific physician for my visit?

    Every effort is made to arrange your consultation and follow up visits with the physician of your choice. If you are in need of an URGENT consultation or you are an established patient with an ACUTE issue, you may see any one of our physicians.

  • When will I receive lab or test results?

    You will receive a CALL quickly with any lab results that require URGENT attention. Other abnormal lab results will be addressed promptly by the provider that ordered the labs or tests. Our practice uses an electronic health record and as a progressive practice, our preferred mode of sharing results is via our secure patient portal.  It is imperative that you familiarize yourself with the use of our portal.  We will not send or fax results to your house. You can view your labs on our portal, but may be in your best interest to enroll in the patient portal system of your preferred lab as a simple reliable way to retrieve labs at your leisure.

  • How do I obtain a prescription refill?

    You are always free to call our office for a refill, but it is in your best interest to learn how to use our secure patient portal.  The portal is an easy and efficient way to request medication refills.  All medication refill requests will be completed within 72 hours so please plan accordingly.
  • Is your fee schedule negtiable?

    If you have health insurance, and we participate in your plan, we have already negotiated the fee with your insurance company. Therefore we will not negotiate balances generated by either co-insurances or deductibles. If you are a self-pay patient, you should inquire about our fees prior to being seen. Please ask to speak to Sue our practice manager in regard to rates and special considerations.
